Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise laboratory staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, including CLIA and CAP requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to maintain accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and timely laboratory services.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements, implementing new technologies and best practices as appropriate.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain equipment to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
  • Handle and resolve any issues or challenges that arise within the laboratory.

Requirements:

  • ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in using laboratory information systems and other relevant software.
