About the Microbiologist Role:
MLR is seeking a highly qualified Lead Microbiologist to oversee the daily operations of our microbiology lab in Central Connecticut. This leadership position offers the opportunity to manage a talented team, enhance lab efficiency, and ensure strict regulatory compliance within a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities as a Microbiologist:
- Leadership & Development: Manage a team of microbiologists and technicians, conducting performance reviews, staff training, and hiring.
- Technical Oversight: Supervise microbiological testing and sample analysis across environmental, clinical, and pharmaceutical areas.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other regulatory standards, while upholding quality assurance protocols.
- R&D Collaboration: Work closely with R&D teams on new product development and introduce new testing methods to improve lab functionality.
- Operational Management: Oversee lab equipment, procurement, and resources to maintain efficiency and manage budgets effectively.
Qualifications for the Microbiologist Role:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Experience: At least 5 years of microbiology experience, with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Certifications: ASCP (M) certification preferred; ASCP (MLS) or AMT certification required.
