About the Lead Microbiologist Position:
MLR is looking for a highly qualified Lead Microbiologist to oversee the daily operations of our microbiology lab in Central Connecticut. This leadership role provides the opportunity to manage a talented team, enhance lab efficiency, and ensure strict regulatory compliance in a fast-paced and innovative setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Development: Manage a team of microbiologists and technicians, conducting performance reviews, staff training, and recruitment.
- Technical Oversight: Supervise microbiological testing and sample analysis across environmental, clinical, and pharmaceutical domains.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure adherence to FDA, ISO, and other regulatory standards while maintaining quality assurance protocols.
- R&D Collaboration: Partner with R&D teams on new product development and introduce innovative testing methods to enhance lab functionality.
- Operational Management: Oversee lab equipment, procurement, and resources to maintain efficiency and effectively manage budgets.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of microbiology experience with proven leadership skills.
- Certifications: ASCP (M) certification preferred; ASCP (MLS) or AMT certification required.
