Ultrasound Technologist

Job Description:
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for completing specialized technical ultrasound procedures in accordance with organizational policies and established professional standards of care. This position is accountable for the quality of the examinations completed utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment and critical thinking skills necessary to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have
- Position patients and equipment to ensure proper alignment and exposure
- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce images, adjusting settings as needed to ensure the best possible images
- Monitor patients during the procedure to ensure their safety and comfort
- Process and review images to ensure they meet quality standards
- Communicate with physicians and other medical staff to ensure proper diagnostic procedures are followed
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography or related field from an Accredited Medical Diagnostic Sonography program (ARDMS)
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification or equivalent
- Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and related technology
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
