Position Overview:
MLR.org is excited to offer a remarkable opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our client’s prestigious medical team. In this critical role, your expertise will be fundamental to the success of every surgical procedure, ensuring that all instruments and equipment are expertly sterilized and prepared for use. You will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality, directly impacting exceptional patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Instrument Sterilization: Operate sterilization equipment to ensure all surgical instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized.
- Decontamination: Clean and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment after use.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and organize inventory of sterile supplies and instruments, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Quality Control: Perform routine checks and tests on sterilization processes and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Documentation: Accurately document sterilization processes and maintain records as required by hospital policies.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sterilization and cleaning equipment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with surgical teams to understand instrument needs for upcoming procedures.
- Adherence to Protocols: Follow infection control and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
- Training: Assist in training new staff on sterile processing techniques and safety standards.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in sterilization technology.
Qualifications:
- Certification:
- A Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification is required.
- A Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification is required.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of Sterile Processing Technician experience in a clinical/hospital setting is required.
