Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments, performing daily biological and sterile supply testing, and maintaining detailed logs. This role involves organizing and directing instrument needs across the facility, assisting with endoscopy procedures, and managing supply orders. The technician will adhere to AVH policies and industry standards (AORN, AAMI, HSPA, CER) while completing required competencies. Additionally, the SPD Technician will collaborate with the department and other teams to maintain a professional, efficient, and safe environment, contributing beyond surgical-specific duties when needed.

 

Requirements

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) and Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certifications within 12 months of hire
  • Precious experience in Sterile Processing Required.
