The X-ray Technologist is responsible for operating x-ray equipment and producing images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that high-quality images are produced and that patient safety is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for x-ray procedures by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have
  • Position patients and equipment to ensure proper alignment and exposure
  • Operate x-ray equipment to produce images, adjusting settings as needed to ensure the best possible images
  • Monitor patients during the procedure to ensure their safety and comfort
  • Process and review images to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Communicate with radiologists and other medical staff to ensure proper diagnostic procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Follows all radiation safety guidelines and protocols

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or certificate in radiologic technology or related field
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of x-ray equipment and related technology
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and protection measures
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • Familiarity with PACS (picture archiving and communication system)

This job requires a combination of physical and mental skills, including the ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and move patients, and operate complex medical equipment.

The X-ray technologist will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control of the equipment's.
