Position Overview: We seek a highly skilled and compassionate Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technician to join our client's dedicated cardiology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. This role involves assisting in diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cath Lab, ensuring the highest patient safety and care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angioplasties, stent placements, and other cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Prepare and maintain all Cath Lab equipment and supplies, ensuring they are ready.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and provide appropriate care during procedures.
- Perform and document patient assessments and care by hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the Cath Lab, following strict infection control protocols.
- Assist in administering contrast media and medications as directed by the physician.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 coverage for emergency procedures.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures and post-procedure care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient individualized care plans.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related field.
- Current California State License as a Radiologic Technologist (CRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Cath Lab or similar clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-stress situations and maintain composure under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electrophysiology (EP) procedures.
- Additional certifications such as Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT).
