Acute Clinical Nurse Specialist – CVICU Opportunity

MLR is seeking an experienced and dedicated Acute Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team in a full-time, permanent, direct-hire role in the Bay Area! This position is ideal for a nursing professional with advanced expertise in critical care, specifically within the CVICU setting, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Pay Range: $185,152 → $210,132 per year
Key Responsibilities for Acute Clinical Nurse Specialist – CVICU:
- Clinical Leadership: Provide expert guidance within the CVICU, establishing and monitoring care standards for high-acuity cardiovascular patients.
- Patient & Family Education: Develop and implement education programs for patients, families, and staff focused on cardiovascular care best practices.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to create comprehensive care plans for complex CVICU cases.
- Consultation & Best Practices: Serve as an expert consultant, recommending evidence-based practices and innovations in cardiovascular critical care.
- Position Type: Full-time, permanent, direct-hire
- Discharge Coordination: Oversee coordinated discharge planning to support continuity of care for CVICU patients transitioning to other care settings.
Qualifications for Acute Clinical Nurse Specialist – CVICU:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in CVICU
- Experience training staff and hosting nursing orientations are a must
- Education: Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Master’s in a related clinical field (e.g., critical care, public health)
- Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Certification required
- Valid CA Registered Nurse License
- BLS – ACLS preferred
