Cardiac Cath Lab Rad Technologist
Job Overview: As a licensed Radiologic Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, you will play an essential role in supporting cardiac catheterization procedures. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the highest quality of imaging, operating fluoroscopy equipment, and managing the storage of images per departmental standards. You will also assist cardiologists in a scrub role during various procedures and handle billing and data collection tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
- Perform all tasks related to the Rad Tech – Cath Lab position.
- Operate imaging equipment within the cardiac catheterization lab to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide high-quality imaging and sequences to assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Manage communications within the lab, including handling pages, lab specimens, and housekeeping requests.
- Serve as a Monitor Technician, responsible for acquiring and analyzing hemodynamic and electrophysiological data.
- Update procedural changes and prepare requisitions for supplies as needed.
- Assist physicians as a scrub technician in diagnostic coronary arteriography and cardiac interventions.
- Stay current with continuing education to maintain proficiency in Radiographic, Monitor, and Scrub Technician roles.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: At least two (2) years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab. Recent graduates from a Radiology Technology program or Radiation Technologists with a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience will also be considered.
- Licensure Required:
- CRT (California Radiologic Technology Certificate)
- CA Fluoroscopy Permit
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Certifications Required:
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) within six months of hire
- Additional unit-specific certifications may be required.
