Your Mountain Life Awaits
In a high valley where evergreen forests meet alpine meadows, life feels more grounded — and more vibrant. Here, your work as a physical therapist doesn’t end when you leave the clinic; it continues in the way you experience community, wellness, and nature. The region is surrounded by crystal-clear lakes, trout-filled streams, and trail systems that wind through conifer woods and pastures lined with wildflowers. Every season has its rhythm — from snowshoeing under a canopy of pines to kayaking down cool, winding rivers in the summer.
Just west of the Sierra Nevada crestline lies a town with heart — where neighbors greet you by name and Friday night markets bring the entire community together. Local coffee shops double as art galleries, and mom-and-pop restaurants serve seasonal meals from nearby farms. Farmers markets brim with just-picked produce, and the town fair still brings out hayrides, live music, and hand-crafted pies. While the pace is slower here, the pulse of the community beats strong.
Professionals who move here often say they came for the job, but stayed for the lifestyle. Whether you’re exploring forest trails, sipping wine on a patio with mountain views, or simply watching the stars appear after a long day, you’ll find that living here supports your work just as much as your work supports your patients.
This region offers proximity to both Chico, CA and Reno, NV, yet feels worlds apart in terms of peace and access to nature. With affordable living, a tight-knit hospital team, and endless outdoor possibilities, this is the kind of place where you can build both a career and a life you love.

Whether you're early in your PT journey or a seasoned therapist looking for deeper fulfillment, you'll find a sense of purpose here — and a team that feels like family.
