Director of Emergency Services Nurse

Location: Northern Los Angeles County, California

Overview:

The Director of Emergency Services Nurse is responsible for the overall management and operation of the emergency department at a level II trauma hospital. This includes overseeing the clinical and administrative functions of the department, as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of patient care. The Director will work closely with the medical staff, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that the emergency department is fully operational and able to meet the needs of the community.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the clinical and administrative functions of the emergency department, including staffing, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of patient care in the emergency department
• Collaborate with the medical staff and nursing staff to ensure that the emergency department is fully operational and able to meet the needs of the community
• Manage the performance and development of the nursing staff in the emergency department
• Serve as a leader and mentor to the nursing staff, promoting teamwork and collaboration
• Participate in the development and implementation of the hospital's emergency preparedness plan
• Work with the hospital administration to develop and maintain partnerships with local emergency medical services providers
• Participate in the development and implementation of the hospital's quality improvement plan

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency nursing, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Experience in a level II trauma hospital setting preferred
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and community partners
