Overview: Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Cardiovascular Sonographer (Echo Tech) and play a pivotal role in providing exceptional patient care within our esteemed hospital network. As a Cardiovascular Sonographer, you will utilize your expertise in ultrasound imaging to perform echocardiograms, providing accurate diagnostic assessments that contribute to the overall treatment and management of cardiovascular conditions. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform echocardiograms using state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate diagnostic results.
  2. Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to assess patient needs, develop imaging protocols, and determine optimal imaging techniques.
  3. Maintain proficiency in echocardiography techniques, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms, as well as Doppler and color flow imaging.
  4. Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns or questions.
  5. Adhere to established protocols and guidelines for image acquisition, documentation, and reporting, maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  6. Participate in quality assurance activities, including equipment maintenance, image quality assessment, and ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  7. Educate patients and their families about the echocardiography procedure, answering questions and providing support as needed to promote understanding and cooperation.
  8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, communicate imaging findings, and contribute to comprehensive treatment plans.
  9. Stay informed about advancements in cardiovascular imaging technology and techniques, incorporating new developments into practice to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  10. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a positive and supportive environment within the healthcare team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • California state licensure as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS).
  • Minimum of two years of experience in cardiovascular sonography preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
