What You'll Do:

  • Lead and Supervise Respiratory Therapy Staff: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to respiratory therapists, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to best practices and protocols.
  • Administer Respiratory Therapies: Deliver critical treatments including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and nebulized medications to both acute and chronic respiratory patients.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct Diagnostic Testing: Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases (ABG), pulmonary function tests, and other evaluations to guide patient treatment plans.
  • Maintain Equipment and Documentation: Ensure all respiratory equipment is maintained and up to code while documenting patient treatments and procedures accurately.
  • Educate Patients and Families: Provide education to patients and families on respiratory therapies, equipment usage, and lifestyle changes to improve respiratory health.

Qualifications:

  • Active Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Alabama
  • NBRC Certification as a Lead Respiratory Therapist (LRT) or eligibility to obtain
  • Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and work with patients
  • Ability to adapt to the fast-paced nature of the healthcare environment
