Medical Diagnostic Sonographer

What You’ll Do
- Perform Comprehensive Ultrasound Exams
Carry out abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, vascular, and musculoskeletal ultrasound studies with precision and attention to detail. - Operate and Optimize Imaging Equipment
Use advanced ultrasound systems, adjusting settings for optimal image quality based on each patient’s needs. - Ensure Patient Comfort and Safety
Position patients appropriately, explain procedures clearly, and create a calm, supportive environment during exams. - Collaborate with Healthcare Teams
Partner with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff to interpret imaging findings and assist in timely decision-making. - Document Imaging Results
Accurately enter patient and imaging data into the electronic medical record (EMR) system while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. - Maintain Clinical and Safety Standards
Follow HIPAA, AIUM, and facility protocols to ensure the highest standards of care, confidentiality, and safety. - Monitor and Maintain Equipment
Perform regular equipment checks and maintenance to ensure continuous high performance and report any issues promptly. - Pursue Ongoing Professional Development
Engage in continuing education to stay current with advancements in sonographic technology and clinical best practices.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
Certification & Licensure:
- Current certification through ARDMS or ARRT(S).
- Alabama state licensure, if required.
Experience & Skills:
- 1+ years of sonography experience preferred (new grads welcome to apply).
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, ultrasound techniques, and pathology.
- Technical proficiency with ultrasound equipment and EMR systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to accommodate varied schedules, including weekends or on-call rotations.
