Network Technician III

Network Technician III (full-time) in the Birmingham, AL area.

Pay published for this role: $26 to $43 an hour.

What the work involves:

• Expanded knowledge of network routing and switching, including routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and an in depth understanding of LAN protocol Spanning Tree.
• Demonstrate knowledge on managing and troubleshooting the OSI model of various data communication layers through the use of software, such as Wireshark.
• Experience managing user access through the use of VLANs, to segment network traffic as a means to improve the efficiency provided by network switches.
• Understands how to configure infrastructure services, including DNS, DHCP, and NTP.
• Has the ability to perform infrastructure maintenance of hardware electronics at the access layer (port access points).
• Can work with Network Architects to implement an IP subnet and maintain an IP address database.
