Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care:
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
    • Monitor patients' vital signs and assist in managing their pain and recovery.
  2. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination during surgeries.
    • Communicate effectively with the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes.
  3. Surgical Assistance:
    • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functional.
    • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other necessary items.
  4. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including preoperative and postoperative assessments.
    • Document all aspects of care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  5. Safety and Infection Control:
    • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards within the operating room.
    • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices and innovations in perioperative nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in WA.
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Preferred experience as an O.R. Nurse
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • BSN desired but not required
