Requirements for Ultrasound Technologist:
- Associate degree or certification in diagnostic medical sonography or related field
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification or equivalent
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and related technology
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Key Duties Include:
- Preparing patients for ultrasound examinations, addressing any concerns or inquiries they may have
- Ensuring proper alignment and exposure by positioning patients and equipment accordingly
- Operating ultrasound equipment proficiently to generate high-quality images, adjusting settings as necessary for optimal results
- Monitoring patient well-being throughout the procedure to guarantee safety and comfort
- Reviewing and processing images to uphold quality standards
- Collaborating with physicians and medical staff to ensure adherence to diagnostic protocols
