Ultrasound Technologist Job Summary
- The Ultrasound Technologist conducts diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound examinations for evaluation and treatment by the attending physician. They perform medical ultrasounds efficiently for the clinic's patient population and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients, addressing their questions, and ensuring optimal patient positioning for accurate imaging. The technologist adjusts equipment settings based on procedural knowledge and established guidelines, and assists clinic physicians as needed. Additionally, the technologist interacts with various computer programs and systems daily.
Ultrasound Technologist Position Qualification
- Minimum Education: Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, or Ultrasound Technology program
- Minimum Experience: 1 year experience preferred
- Required Registration/License/Certification:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Kansas License for Radiology Technology (LRT)
- Basic Life Support certification will be accepted from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider), or successfully completes within the first 90 days of employment.
- Certification in Abdomen and Vascular preferred
