Overview of the Position: Sleep Technologist

Key Details:

The Sleep Diagnostics Center, accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, features cutting-edge facilities with six bedrooms, offering testing 7 nights a week. Staffed by a highly skilled team including (3) Board Certified Sleep Physicians, (4) Board Registered Sleep Technologists (RPSGT), (3) Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT), and (1) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).

Technology and Setting:

The center ensures advanced diagnostics with Cadwell, ResMed, and Nonin software, diverse PAP masks, and seamless integration with the electronic medical record (Epic) through the Cadwell system. The facility provides 24/7 security, convenient employee parking, and a tranquil environment resembling a luxury hotel with seasonal gardens, water features, fireplaces, and lobby sofas.

Compensation and Schedule:

Sleep Technologist compensation is based on relevant experience, including shift differentials and applicable premium pay. The hourly rate is just one component of the total rewards package, which includes a comprehensive benefits program for eligible positions. The role requires night shifts, specifically from 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM, totaling 40 hours a week, Monday through Thursday.


  • Conduct both basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for testing, including interviewing patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explaining testing procedures.
  • Perform and document testing, actively monitoring patients to address needs or equipment issues when necessary.
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet specific needs. Additionally, score, interpret, and report the results of sleep studies.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain testing equipment. Report any required repairs or replacements.



  • Obtain BLS Provider certification within one month (30 days) of the hire or job transfer date. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

One or more of the following is required:

  • Possess a Certified Polysomnographic Tech credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) before the hire or job transfer date.
  • Possession of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) before the hire or job transfer date.


  • High school diploma equivalency with two years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific expertise is necessary.
