Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Echocardiograms: Perform diagnostic echocardiograms (adult and pediatric) to evaluate heart function and detect abnormalities.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, explain processes, and position patients for optimal imaging results.
- High-Quality Imaging: Capture clear, precise echocardiogram images based on physician orders and established protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to interpret diagnostic images and assist in treatment planning.
- Patient Education: Educate patients about the echocardiogram procedure and answer any questions to help reduce anxiety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and imaging reports, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and patient privacy standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Certification: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer) certification required. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification also required.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in echocardiography preferred. New graduates with certification will also be considered.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform diagnostic imaging for extended periods and assist patients as needed.
