Lead Diagnostic Radiology Technologist

MLR Healthcare is seeking an experienced Lead Diagnostic Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a leader within the radiology department, you will oversee daily operations, supervise and mentor technologists, and ensure the highest quality diagnostic imaging services for our patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of diagnostic radiology technologists, ensuring high standards of patient care, image quality, and department efficiency.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and other radiologic exams, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Oversee daily workflow and staffing, ensuring appropriate coverage for all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to less experienced technologists, ensuring they are proficient in imaging techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal diagnostic outcomes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of department protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, working closely with biomedical engineering and the radiology management team to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Monitor departmental inventory, order supplies, and maintain accurate records to ensure all resources are available as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including maintaining accurate patient records and following all safety and HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist with quality control and accreditation processes to maintain departmental certifications and accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
- Required: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), with Illinois state licensure.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role in a diagnostic radiology setting.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging techniques, radiation safety, and department protocols.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, clinical environment.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
