Job Summary
The interventional radiology nurse will deliver specialized nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. The perfect candidate will possess a strong background in critical care, excellent clinical skills, and a dedication to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care.
- Assist the interventional radiologist during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, promptly addressing any complications or changes in condition.
- Administer medications and IV contrast as required, following protocols and physician orders.
- Educate patients and their families on the procedure, post-procedure care, and follow-up requirements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all care provided.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and coordinated patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in critical care or interventional radiology.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
