Job Summary

The interventional radiology nurse will deliver specialized nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. The perfect candidate will possess a strong background in critical care, excellent clinical skills, and a dedication to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care.
  • Assist the interventional radiologist during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, promptly addressing any complications or changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and IV contrast as required, following protocols and physician orders.
  • Educate patients and their families on the procedure, post-procedure care, and follow-up requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all care provided.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in critical care or interventional radiology.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
