About the Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Registered Nurse to join our Perioperative Services team in California. As a Senior RN in Perioperative Services, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery. This position requires advanced clinical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care in the perioperative setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide expert nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process (preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative).
- Assess patient needs, perform preoperative assessments, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
- Administer anesthesia, medications, and treatments as required, following protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patients during surgery and recovery, ensuring optimal safety and comfort.
- Educate patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, recovery plans, and postoperative care.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for junior nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring best practices in perioperative care.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in perioperative services, including scrub and circulating roles.
- Advanced knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, including anesthesia and surgical care.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required.
- CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification preferred.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to patient care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
